Ladies 1s lose tough encounter!

With the weather finally allowing us a saturday fixture ladies 1s travelled to Harleston. We were all a little apprehensive as Harleston ladies 2s had a postponed fixture so we knew it would be a tough game against their 3s with some of those players available, but Watton needs tough games to examine their progress! The game began and Wattons nerves were jangling whilst Harleston took advantage with some excellent passing play in Wattons 23, we seemed to have forgotten all our pre Christmas preparations! Harleston took the lead with a well struck shot from a PC, we needed to settle and relax! With true Watton style we started to fight back ,compressing the play and putting some pressure on the Harleston goal. Parnell was unlucky not to score with a waist height volley in front of goal..... Straight at the keeper!! Half time came and went, Watton came out trying to improve on all the things we weren't doing well, but we were unable to make the break through despite winning much more possession but we played hard to the end winning a PC as the final whistle went. Could we get a well deserved draw? No 😔 Final score 0-1, Helen and Holly player of the match shared and I, Mel, got to look after Wally this week, after sitting through teas with a huge dollop of tomato ketchup on my TShirt from a Bacon a Roll, the shame!!! 😳
