Harleston 0-7 Watton

Men put 7 past magpies 5ths The men's 1st team ran out comfortable winners against Harleston 5ths finishing up 7--0 winners.

From the off Watton looked to take the game to Harleston and put the home side under pressure. Daniel Rix found space in the D and fired in a reverse stick shot that found Carl Harder unmarked at the back post to tap in the opener.

Watton continued to pile on the pressure and Daniel Rix quickly added 2 goals, smashing home his first and tucking the bal...l in from a ridiculous angle for his 2nd and Wattons third. Before the end of the first half there was time for Sean Billington to add his name to the goal scorers list, tucking home a sharp finish from great team play. 4--0 up going into half time.

The second half continued in the same way, although Harleston pressed hard and looked dangerous on the counter, forcing Bob Fleming into a couple a decent saves and hitting the post from a well worked short corner routine.

Watton got their 5th through a short corner routine of their own. With Henry Garner making space for himself and flicking home from around the penalty spot.

There was time left for Sean Billington to add 2 more goals and get his hattrick. The first buried after an excellent turn and the second where he deflected the ball brilliantly past the keeper from a great ball into the D. Sean maintains that he sprinted and outpaced his defender to get the the ball....... we didn't see it quite that way but it was a great finish none the less!!!

Over a post match teas ( rated by Rixy as 5 out of 10 due to the lack of the lovely sausages we had previously) it was decided that Steven had earned DOD due the his rally driving exploits....

And MOM went to Carl Harder for a excellent all round game. Very proud stand in captain for the day!
