Under 10s WIN Harleston Tournament

NO, IT IS NOT A DREAM, WE WON THE HARLESTON TOURNAMENT! I’ve been floating on the clouds since Sunday. My voice is sore and croaky from shouting and singing ‘Simply the Best’ and ‘We are the Champions’!

It’s all about taking part and having fun, but as you all know I do love to… WIN, WIN WIN!

Well, where do I start? Not only did we not lose a single game, not one, we also didn’t even concede a single goal in a simply outstanding team effort. Under-10 girls, what a team!

Willow was playing her first game in goal and never looked out of place. She was very nimble and made some incredible saves – to ensure we never let in a goal! Isobel and Courtney defended well together – not many people we able to get around their perfect tackling. Jessica came out of goal for a change and demonstrated what a versatile player she is – playing up front and also defending superbly. Isobel shows so much more confidence in every game and is a great threat going forwards and never stops fighting for the ball. Molly Molly is turning into a demon on the pitch. She was able to outrun defenders with her close ball control, weaving in and out of players – it was a dream to watch her scoring two cracking goals. Then we come to our St Trinians’ pair. Isabelle is a very lively player on and off the pitch and is fast becoming a very stylish player who wants to win every ball and the match! (I wonder where Isabelle gets that from?) She was extremely unlucky not to score. Niamh, the engine of the team, not only controls the middle and feeds the balls to the forwards, but also helps out in defence and scored an unstoppable goal!

Wow. I think I need to sit down!
