After some scorching training temperatures both Watton and Ipswich were glad of some cooler weather for the first league of the season. Both teams came out eager and fighting in the first half but Watton had both the intensity and therefore the possession enabling them to dominate the first half. It was therefore not such a surprise that watton found themselves two up at half time. The first goal came from a short corner which Bea slotted in.... The second goal came from an interception high up the field followed by a jazmania strike at goal, what an angle.
Ipswich came out strong after half time and in just 20 seconds managed to scrape a goal back, with a high shot which deflected off the defenders hand and goal keeper Holly got a touch but not enough to stop the ball. The play then remained slightly frantic until Watton gained back composure and possession. The third goal came from a well rehearsed short corner!!! The game finished 3-1. POM was Emma Lake. A mention must also be made to Holly the G/K who was nothing short of outstanding......
